Sonja Sketch 3 by Tarzman Sonja Sketch 3 by Tarzman
Yet another Sonja sketch. I'm going to try to do one everyday for about a week just to have something to show and sell at Wizard World Philly.

Hi Marina, thanks for featuring me with those other fine artists. By the way, every time I see that photo of you on your homepage where you are looking over your glasses with that expression, it makes me smile. I must try to draw you sometime soon!

I have been having more trouble with viruses lately myself. There is a great software I discovered which was very helpful in removing everything, and if you're interested you may be able to use a trial version. Email me if you're interested and I can tell you what it is.

Who can get bored of seeing images of Red Sonja?

Very distinct and classy look here! Like it!

Not to sound like a broken record, but I suggested once that another artist, the very talented Mister Mitch Foust, do a picture of Arwyn to sell at convention, and he said she was very popular. (He's done a total of three pictures of her that I know of, two of them sold at Convention, the third is hanging on my wall here at home.) You might give it a try my man. She's still very popular and there is talk in the grapevine of Sojourn making a comeback. Kingdom Comics owns the rights to all the Crossgen stuff. (That's the comic company recently started by Disney.) Just a thought!

By the way, Sonja is radiant as always. Excellent work sir. I am especially fond of your faces, you do some of the most beautiful faces in the business. And your work with shading is really impressive. Keep it UP!

Hey thanks! What's interesting about the Aawyn character is that it is very similar to a character I created, Wilde Knight, who even has a wolf companion. I'll have to find the time to do one of Aarwyn just for the heck of it.

Wow. That is truly stunning. The style is quite fresh, and it is an amazing example of it! The proportions are all realistic, and the line work and shading are impeccable! Definitely putting that in my favourites :)

This is going to sound odd, but I'm especially drawn to the effective use of white on her eyes--particularly her left eye, where there is a section of white on the bottom 'lid' left blank. Perfect use of the paper, there. LOVE it. Makes her whole face light up.
