Sonja Vs. Snake by Tarzman Sonja Vs. Snake by Tarzman
Here's another Sonja piece, done traditionally and touched up with Photoshop. My scanner pics up every bit of the texture of the colored pencils, so in order to make this thing look somewhat normal I have to go in and try to smooth out the rough texture. I don't profess to be a great computer colorist. I do these things in ink and color them with colored pencils, and there are limitations to them. There are great colorists out there (you listening Nei) so this is as good as it gets from me!

Really nice work! Lemme ask you something, if Red Sonja wasn't as prepared as she is, would hers join the ring of skulls around that rock?

I actually really dig the colour scheme's you use. I like the vibrancy of the colours and the softness. And as brilliant as Nei is I don't think she'd give the same feel to this pic.

I absolutely love the angle of this, the it's so different from anything else I'd expect to see.

And I think you did an excellent job on the colors, despite your issues with your scanner! Nice work, as always! :D

This looks awesome and I can understand how much of a plain 'smoothing out' the textures can be. It's one of the main reasons I moved to digital colouring. :D

Wow,looks great! I too suffer from scanner limitations but I'm not skilled in digital coloring as yet. I hadn't thought of "smoothing" out colors digitally, certainly worth looking into. Oh-oh,skulls again? Ha- hey it works!

Hey,m thanks once again for you comment, yours are always thoughtful and interesting. Yeah, skulls again, but at least I feel like it makes sense. I wanted to give the impression that this was the snakes regular territory, and then I just littered them around.
