ink and colored pencils? what kind? I use Berol Prismacolor, but lost all mine in a recent fire. Costly loss. My brother had always wondered how I made my colors so solid with those... but you, this is so smooth it almost looks digital... what colors do you use?

So beautiful! I always love your Red Sonja pics... they're so powerful and sexy at the same time. Understandably, they're classic GGA :D

Tops work as always! :D

To talk shop for a bit Dave- what brand of colored pencils do you use? I know that you do some touching up in Photoshop, but I would love to see the work "raw". I've been doing some colored pencil work as of late and I'm interested in seeing how it looks before the final touches are added.

Anyway, looks great Dave. :judge:

I'll see if I can find a few art files that are not touched up, put them side by side with the finished art so you can compare. I use Col-Erase pencils because you can work them, blend them, do just about anything with them. The technique I use is one I have worked on over the past five years or so and it is finally showing the results I had hoped for when I first started coloring with the Col-Erase pencils. It's a matter of laying down color and then carefully smudging, re-color, and then smudging some more. A lot can depend on the type of bristol; to much "tooth" and the color becomes a bit hard to handle, too smooth and it's more difficult to smudge.

Oh cool, thanks for sharing Dave!

I mostly layer my colors on top of one another and blend with more layers or with a colorless blender. I did find that issue with the papers- I have some that have WAY too much tooth for my taste.

Col-Erase eh? I'll look into them. :D Again, thank you so much for the "shop talk"!

Concur with jbird18--abs are superior, as are the cleavage, shins and calves. Deft use of color to create light and shadow.

Well done.
