Supergirl 2010 by Tarzman Supergirl 2010 by Tarzman
Thought I would start the new Year with a Supergirl sketch, once again done in ink and colored with my trusty colored pencils (with a bit of Photoshop touching up). Happy New Year to one and all.

Yet another amazing pic of Supergirl. There's nothing I can say that would make this any better than it already is.

Nice drawing like always, by the way this is Nina from one of your classes this past quarter... if you remember me. Happy New Year, too.

Hey Nei, sorry for taking so long to answer. Gee, now I'm nervous telling you how I used Photoshop. I sometimes use photoshop on these pieces I color with colored pencils because with certain colors my scanner really picks up on the texture left on the board. I use Col-Erase pencils to color, and I will rub and smudge the colored pencil and remove most of the texture, so that to the nakid eye you really don't notice the texture. But, the scanner picks it up everytime, especially most reds and some blues. So I scan the art, take it into Photoshop, and with the use of the airbrush tool smooth out the texture left by the scanner. I simply use the eyedropper, touch the base color, and then use the airbrush. I actually try to do this as little as possible, because I sort of hate coloring with the computer. I'll always color traditionally to start, and then digitally touch up; starting from scratch with no base color already on the art would drive me bonkers.
